Integrative Massage

Our skilled therapists integrate Swedish massage with other specific techniques to create an individualized treatment. Clients may request light, moderate or deep pressure. Each session is organized around the client's needs and goals for maximum relaxation and therapeutic results.

Massage Therapy Modalities

Swedish

Swedish massage is the most commonly known form of massage. Swedish, in it's pure form is a light to medium massage that uses non specific or general sweeping strokes intended to increase relaxation and blood flow in the body. Swedish massage today is normally a more integrated massage. Highly trained and experienced therapists can get away from the basics and include other modalities, creating a more therapeutic massage that is still relaxing.

Deep tissue

During deep tissue, the therapist applies slow, forceful strokes. These help release knots and strains in the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue.

The overall aim is to realign the muscles and release chronic muscle tension from ailments or injuries.

It can be part of your Integrative massage treatment or the sole purpose of your appointment.

Craniosacral

Craniosacral therapy is noninvasive. It’s a type of bodywork that relieves compression in the bones of the head, sacrum (a triangular bone in the lower back), and spinal column.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a type of massage that involves applying different amounts of pressure to the feet, hands, and ears. It’s based on a theory that these body parts are connected to certain organs and body systems.

Accupressure

Acupressure is a specific technique that aims to decrease pain, clear tension in muscles, increase blood circulation and promote deep states of relaxation.

Therapists will use their fingers, palms, elbows to apply pressure to acupoints on the body's meridians.

Acupressure can be effective to relieve headaches, back ache and help to manage conditions such as fibromyalgia.

Myofascial

Myofascial release deals with connective tissue in the body called Fascia, normal fascia should feel pliable and elastic.

Your therapist will begin massaging and stretching the areas that feel rigid with light manual pressure. The process is repeated multiple times on the same trigger point and on other trigger points until the therapist feels the tension is fully released.

Trigger Point

Trigger points are sore, painful spots—also called knots—found in muscles. These knots are sensitive and when pressure is applied, it produces pain in a different part of your body.

A trigger point massage helps work out those knots and reduce the pain associated with them.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology taping is used to aid muscle movement. It's a thin, flexible tape that is meant to relieve pain, reduce swelling and inflammation, and provide support to joints and muscles.

Cupping

Cupping is a therapy in which silicone or glass cups are applied to the skin along the meridians of the body, creating suction as a way of stimulating the flow of energy.

Cupping is performed for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

Cupping can cause red marks on the body that will typically fade in a few days. Even though the body may get red marks, the treatment is not generally painful and can be tailored to your comfort level.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is a scraping technique intended to move around energy, improve circulation and help your body rid itself of toxins. Therapists use a special tool to scrape the skin while placing pressure on the muscle to help release blood stagnation and relieve tight muscles.

Gua Sha can cause red marks on the body that will typically fade in a few days. Even though the body may get red marks, the treatment is not generally painful and can be tailored to your comfort level.
